From March 1999 to March 2002, CIDA funded a bilateral project aimed at improving the capacity of the MEM to monitor and control environment, as well as occupational health and safety in mines; to respond in emergency cases; and to computerize the access to the MEM's system of mining titles and concessions. The project was implemented by the Ministry of Energy and Mines of British Columbia.
